Huntress Associates created a Redevelopment Master Plan for the former Lucent Technologies plant located in North Andover Massachusetts. With over 1.5 million square feet of existing buildings on 169 acres of land, the site played a critical role in the econmomic well-being of North Andover and the entire Merrimack Valley Region.
Possibilities and opportunities for the rebirth and reuse of the facility was as enormous as the site itself. The site is located on the Haverhill / North Andover boundary, adjacent to the MBTA Commuter Rail Line, and within close proximity to Route 495.
HAI worked with a multi-disciplinary team, including the owners, architects, environmental, civil and traffic engineers, surveyors, commercial real estate professionals, planners and economists.
While the final solutions required a broad review at both the State and Local level, the final master plan called for a mixed use campus—providing new opportunities in retail, restaurants, services, a new commuter rail station and a new residential community—all within close proximity to one of the largest employment centers in the history of Massachusetts.
