The master-planned community of Legacy Farms creates a rural village of 190 homes on 582 acres with a network of walking trails winding through meadows, forests and scenic vistas. The architectural style is reminiscent of the rural farming history that is such an active part of Hopkinton's history. The landscape relies upon traditional elements of natives plants, rain gardens, split rail fencing, hand carved signs and pedestrian scale lighting to create a sense of place that reinforces the natural rural beauty of the site.

The village layout includes the design of attached townhouses in a rural setting, surrounded by dedicated open space. The townhouses are designed to reflect the rambling nature of a New England farmhouse, providing varied roof lines, front porches, and a Community Meeting House. Each townhouse has been designed to have private views of the surrounding open space. The Community Meeting House becomes the architectural focal point,
with peaks and roof lines reflective of an old farm building. Working with the project team, Huntress Associates provided site planning, landscape design, and site lighting.
